Chargebacks and Revocations

Chargebacks and revocations refer to the reversal of payments or the cancellation of transactions. Book3M takes such matters seriously and has procedures in place to address them in a fair and transparent manner.

Chargebacks

A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a transaction and requests the reversal of a payment through their bank or payment provider. Book3M strives to resolve chargebacks promptly and will take the necessary steps to protect both vendors and customers.

Reasons for Chargebacks

Chargebacks may be initiated for several reasons, including but not limited to:

  • Unauthorized transactions or fraudulent activity;
  • Non-receipt of goods or services;
  • Products or services that do not match the description;
  • Issues with the quality or condition of the purchased product or service.

Process for Chargeback Handling

When a chargeback is initiated, Book3M will review the details of the transaction and may request additional documentation from the vendor or customer involved. If the chargeback is found to be valid, Book3M will reverse the payment, and the vendor’s account may be debited accordingly.

Vendors are responsible for managing their transactions and ensuring they comply with platform policies to minimize the risk of chargebacks. In case of a dispute, Book3M will assist in resolving the issue by reviewing the transaction and all related evidence.

Revocations

A revocation refers to the cancellation or invalidation of a transaction by either the vendor or the customer before the transaction is finalized. Revocations may occur due to various reasons, such as:

  • Customer cancellation of the service or product;
  • Vendor canceling a booking due to unavailability or other reasons;
  • Errors in the transaction details (e.g., incorrect pricing, availability).

Process for Revocations

If a transaction is revoked by either the vendor or customer, Book3M will update the transaction status accordingly. The vendor may be required to issue a refund or take other actions as per the platform’s cancellation and refund policies.

If a revocation leads to the cancellation of a product or service, the vendor may be required to adjust any associated payments or account balances.

Consequences of Chargebacks and Revocations

In cases where chargebacks or revocations result in financial loss to Book3M or the involved parties, corrective actions may be taken. This may include:

  • Withholding of funds from future payouts;
  • Temporary suspension or termination of vendor accounts;
  • Additional fees or penalties as outlined in the platform’s terms.

Vendors and customers are encouraged to resolve any disputes amicably and to follow the platform’s dispute resolution process.

Processing Fees for SMBs

Book3M applies processing fees to certain transactions conducted by small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) using the platform. These fees cover the costs associated with handling payments, ensuring secure transactions, and maintaining the platform's services.

Types of Processing Fees

The following types of processing fees may apply to SMBs using Book3M:

  • Transaction Fees: A fee applied to each transaction processed on the platform. This fee is a percentage of the total transaction amount and is designed to cover processing costs.
  • Payment Gateway Fees: Fees charged by payment gateways for facilitating payments made by customers through various methods, such as credit/debit cards or digital wallets.
  • Currency Conversion Fees: If a transaction involves a currency conversion, additional fees may apply to cover the cost of converting funds from one currency to another.
  • Chargeback Fees: Fees imposed on vendors in case of chargebacks resulting from disputes initiated by customers, as outlined in our Chargebacks and Revocations section.
  • Refund Processing Fees: Fees applied when processing a refund to a customer, which may vary depending on the transaction amount and the payment method used.

Fee Structure

The processing fee structure is as follows:

  • Standard Transaction Fee: [X]% of the transaction total.
  • Payment Gateway Fee: [Y]% of the transaction total or a fixed fee of [Z] per transaction.
  • Currency Conversion Fee: [A]% for each currency conversion.
  • Chargeback Fee: A fixed fee of [B] for each chargeback initiated by a customer.
  • Refund Processing Fee: [C]% of the refund amount or a fixed fee of [D].

These fees will be clearly outlined in your account settings or at the time of transaction. SMBs are encouraged to review the fees applicable to their transactions and plan accordingly.

When Fees Are Applied

Processing fees are typically applied at the time of the transaction and will be automatically deducted from the total amount. In the case of refunds or chargebacks, applicable fees may be deducted from the vendor’s payout balance or future transactions.

Fee Modifications

Book3M reserves the right to modify the processing fees at any time. In such cases, users will be notified in advance of any changes, and the updated fee structure will be reflected in the platform’s Terms of Service. We encourage SMBs to review any changes to the fee structure periodically.
